Skiing in Roccaraso

I recently returned from my first time skiing. Beforehand, I watched YouTube videos, changed my fitness training routine for skiing, I had one-to-one coaching via a coaching friend, and I did the 'ski adult intensive beginner course' at Norfolk Snowsports Club, which I thoroughly recommend. Rather smugly, I thought I would take to skiing quite quickly. But, once onto the piste, reality set in, and I had to deal with the cold fact that it was far more complex than I anticipated. What I quickly discovered was, that I whilst a natural at falling over, it's the falling over, the learning, overcoming fears and anxiety attacks, the small improvements, and then suddenly doing a whole run without falling over, that is hugely satisfying.
Skiing is not a sport I ever thought I would try. But when the opportunity presented itself to me last year, I embraced it full-heartedly, and I am so glad I did because I have absolutely fallen in love with it.
I look forward to my next ski holiday and improving, to the level where I can honestly put it towards another skill that I have.
